The knotting and natural structure of this piece caught my attention immediately. Rather than carving a single light source, I decided to hollow out the interior and open up the natural cracks, letting light glow through from within.
Hollowing it out by hand was time-intensive, future pieces like this will require better tools, but the result was worth it. The light reveals the wood's internal character in a way surface lighting never could.
Specs:
Location Found: 47°N 122°W
