This was an exploration in working with straighter pieces. While twisted, sculptural wood makes for dramatic lamps, there are far more "normal" straight sections that still have character worth revealing.
I try to use as much of the wood I find as possible. Even though it's already dead and will eventually rot away, I'd rather give it purpose than discard it for not being dramatic enough.
